The natural turf area was landscaped with artificial grass in both blue and green. The art grass created an ‘all weather’ play surface.
Primary school playing field often suffer with the British weather. They can be out of bounds for large chunks of the school year. Often playing field only look their best in the summer holidays. 2016 has seen a very wet and chilly weather . The wet condition mean more time spent inside and frustration building in active children and teacher.
St Peters RC Primary School extended their usable playground space. Artificial grass surface are less affected by the British weather and can provide a safe playground flooring. They drain and are dry out quicker than natural turf. St Peter’s primary school also had a foam impact matting proplay under a section of artificial grass. This created an area with a critical fall height and increased cushioning.
